To avoid compression issues when you upload your cover image, make sure the file size is less than 100 KB. PNG works best for logos or text.
If you are using text in your artwork and are planning to promote the post, make sure your artwork passes their text overlay grid tool. If the text covers more than 20% of the artwork area, Facebook will not allow you to promote the post.

Profile Photo – 400px by 400px (Displays 200 x 200)
Header Photo – 1,500px by 500px
In-Stream Photo – Minimum 440px by 220px or 2:1 Ratio
Max file size is 5 MB for photos, and 3 MB for animated GIFs.
If you want to really maximize on your SEO, you need to be on G+. The more Google Apps your brand is a part of the better your Search results.
The optimal image sizes for Google + are:
Profile Picture – 250px by 250px. The profile picture appears in a circle frame, so keep that in mind.
Cover Image – 1,080px by 608px
Shared Image – 497px by 373px
Shared Link (Appears as a Thumbnail) – 150px by 150px
Pinterest is all about the visuals and can do a great job in referring traffic to your website. Your best bet with images posted on Pinterest is to make them fun to read, informative, and shareable. And as a departure from the other Social Media channels, images on Pinterest are better suited in a vertical format.
Profile Picture – 165px by 165px. It appears at this size on the homepage and 32px by 32px everywhere else on Pinterest.
Pins on main pages and boards appear as 236 pixels wide with height being scaled.
Expanded pins have a minimum width of 600 pixels wide with height being scaled.
Board display images – 222px by 150px for large thumbnails and 55px by 55px for smaller thumbnails.
When you’re dealing with the world’s largest professional social network, you want to make sure that the images are spit-polish clean.
The optimal image sizes for LinkedIn are:
Banner Image (Minimum) – 646px by 220px
Standard Logo – 100px by 60px
Square Logo – 50px by 50px
Career or Business Cover Photo – 974px by 300px

Partner this special media platform with Google+ and you have a cadre of Google apps to help with your SEO efforts. And honestly, who could ever get tired of those hilarious singing cat videos!

Channel Cover Photo – 2,560px by 1,440px
Display Sizes – you need to create a single image that cover’s the following display sizes:

Photo Size – 640px by 640px. The images will scale down to 612px by 612px and the thumbnails will appear on the page at 161 x 161 pixels.
